Transformational ICT Programme
Evidence from the ICT Regional Benchmarking Study shows that the vast majority of businesses have now adopted basic levels of IT and communications technologies, but the proportion of advanced adopters using ICT strategically is much smaller.
Yorkshire Forward is currently working with Business Link Yorkshire, Digital 20/20 and regional partners to design the Transformational ICT programme to support businesses, regardless of size, in using ICT and digital technologies to make a step change in their business processes - something that is critical in the current economic climate.
A key part of the programme is to give business owners and managers more advanced skills in selecting and implementing ICT solutions. The Digital 20/20 partnership has commissioned the design and development of a training course to enable business of all types and sectors to know how to procure ICT solutions and, once procured, how to manage introduction and measure effectiveness. This will be made available under Creative Commons Licence for trainers across the region to deliver and will be introduced into the subsidised training routes to help maximise take-up.
Resources already developed and available to download include:
- an introduction to the training series;
- the anticipated learning outcomes from the seven training modules;
- an example of the slides and instructor notes for the ‘Requirements Analysis’ module.
