Local Authority Education Group
The Local Authority Education SIG is focused on education provision, including the 14-19 agenda. It has been established to share best practice, provide an arena to discuss topical issues with invited speakers and to progress issues raised by the Action Plan. The group meets regularly and has covered a range of items including looking at the content of the IT and Creative and Media diplomas, the implications of the reform of the KS3 curriculum for ICT, and the development of e-learning in the region.
Guest speakers have included Diploma experts from Edexcel and e-Skills UK and the senior ICT adviser from National Strategies, as well as local authority advisers and consultants. All metropolitan, council and unitary authorities in Yorkshire and Humber are participating members.
For the 2009/10 academic year the group will be convened by Nick Jeans of Sero Consulting Ltd.
