Welcome
Developing IT Apprenticeships in SMEs.
In England, small and medium businesses employ 64% of the country's IT and Telecoms professionals. However, over the past three years, they have employed only 3% of IT Apprentices.
Digital 20/20 is working with Microsoft, Zenos and e-Skills UK to increase the take-up of IT Apprenticeships by the region's SMEs. Activity is currently focused on rolling out a new model for IT Apprenticeships, aimed initially at Microsoft Partners.
The Microsoft Partner Apprenticeship has three key advantages:
- It helps SMEs manage the introduction of apprentices
- It allows SMEs to select their apprentices
- It includes an element of vendor qualifications which are popular with employers and make apprentices more employable.
Zenos is holding an Open Evening for Microsoft Partners to find out more about the Programme on Thursday 14th January, from 4pm to 7pm, at its Sheffield Academy. For information and to register, click here.
