bmedia event on Free Software - 8th June

The next bmedia Business Network event for Enterprising Barnsley will focus on Free Software - how it works and how to get rich with it. The presenter is John Leach from Brightbox.

John has been involved in free and open source software for over a decade, building and running a number of successful businesses with it. His most recent is Brightbox, a "cloud computing" provider which could not have been created without the use of free software. John will discuss:

• What is free? Including information on freedoms and licences.
• Why free?
• Free software business models.

The event takes place on 8th June 2010, 5.30pm - 8.00pm
at The Digital Media Centre, County Way, Barnsley, S70 2JW. Refreshments will be provided.
