Green IT regional practice network for those mandated to look at sustainability in their IT policies and those developing sustainable computing solutions.

Digital 20/20 Theme:
Current Workforce: Emerging Trends

The term "Green Computing" or "Green IT" covers a range of ideas including:

  • Computing as a means of providing solutions to environmental issues
  • Reducing the carbon footprint of computing itself
  • Dealing responsibly with waste from computing
  •

Digital 20/20 is looking to identify people in the region who are interested in any of the above agendas from amongst:

  • IT departments in big public sector employers and corporate employers
  • Businesses developing Green IT solutions
  • Learning providers developing provision to address these issues
  • Individuals interested in re-training
  •

The aim is to provide support for this emerging area, to link regional interest with national and international activity and to enable Yorkshire and Humber to develop leading edge expertise, as well as to derive benefits from innovative developments.

The first step will be to draw together a steering panel from industry professionals, so please contact us using the form below if you wish to participate.
